Think about your school life, what was it like? What was your favourite aspect of school? Everyone in life has had a different school experience, different counties, different cultures, different ways of viewing education. The inconsistencies of schooling globally ultimately fuels the opportunity disparities in children, some children receive a well rounded education, some text book learning, some education is not in the cards. Children are like sponges, they soak up what is around them, they learn from the people around them so it is important for every child to have a good role model. Not someone who by conventional standards should be looked up too but the people who are kind, can install confidence in the students, people who are invested in the children’s wellbeing and do what they have to help them become the best versions of themselves.
Learning Is Fun Experiences (L.I.F.E.) hopes to bring in a positive role model for students to learn from. Created to transform learning in schools traditionally acquainted with textbook lessons. Students engaging in fun learning experiences aim to develop critical thinking skills, strengthen confidence, expose students to new experiences and expand their worlds. Discovering new hobbies and interests that fosters curiosity.
For things that need to change, it begins with the younger generation. Rural communities are constantly losing their ability to retain young members to help or take over farms, the degrading image of farm life is unattractive to today’s youth but the agricultural industry is what keeps the world operating. By implementing the program into rural communities it not only aims to give the students more opportunities but aims to encourage young students to get more involved and learn more about their communities so that when they are older they will be more encouraged to help in new ways. This might not just be staying in the community, it could be getting another job to help support or create new ways to improve the family businesses.
The purpose of the program is to uplift the younger generation of communities that may not otherwise have something similar to offer, give students a new perspective and discover a world of opportunities.
